WELCOME TO EPSOM DOWNS PLAYGROUP

 

We are a committee run playgroup, owned and run by you the parents. We are a member of the Pre-school learning alliance and are registered with Ofsted. We are registered under the Children's Act 1989.

 

*Opening Times: Monday - Friday 09:30am - 12:15pm

TERM TIME ONLY

 

*Fee: £12 per session

Children are funded by the government from the term after their 3rd birthday

 

*From the 1st of September 2010 the following changes will take place:

Opening Times will change to Monday - Friday 09:30am - 12:30pm

Fees will change to £15 per session

 

 

 

OUR PRINCIPAL AIM

 

To promote the wellbeing and happiness of your child whilst he/sh is at Epsom Downs Playgroup and to facilitate their transition to Infant/Primary school by laying down the foundations of the Curriculum Early Learning Goals, helping each child to develop his/her potential. This is accomplished by utilizing the special skills of all our staff, the current equipment and high standards of knowledge and care, which will be passed on to your child. We also promote the wellbeing and happiness of the staff to ensure that each member of the team reaches his/her full potential and provides a good role model within the group.

 

 

 

 

OUR AIM IS FOR THE CHILDREN AT EPSOM DOWNS PLAYGROUP TO:

 

- Mix with other children and adults

- Work and play in small and large groups as well as individually

- Gain independence, this may be the first time away from family

- Gain confidence and self esteem

- Develop a sense of achievement

- Learn a variety of skills through play following the approved curriculum for the Early Years Foundation Stage

 

 

 

 

WE AIM TO OFFER YOUR CHILD:

 

- A curriculum reflecting the approved six areas of learning offering foundations to build upon throughout their school life

- Individual care and attention

- Each morning we incorporate free play and many varied pre-planned activities

- Each week will be based on a different theme and there will be a related activity each morning

- Walks and outings are occassionally included, weather permitting and with parent/carers consent
